Our school consists of a mix of older, traditional style buildings and recently constructed modern classrooms. We aim to keep our class sizes to a maximum of 25 students in Years 1–3 and 28 students in Years 4–6, and to provide a variety of learning environments to cater for individual needs of students.
Eumundi State School is fortunate to have its own Environmental Centre, situated at the bottom of the school to enable the outside gardens, chook pens and worm farms to be used as an integrated outside classroom. Mr Jon Gemmell, our passionate Science teacher, who also has Permaculture Design Certificate, is a keen gardener and integrates permaculture principles into the curriculum delivery.
Jon and the P-6 classroom teachers are able to use the facilities in the Enviro Centre as well as each class having a whole day to learn all things Environment! Parents are invited to join in on the rotation lessons and help out on working bees. On these days the students utilise the garden, kitchen, chicken coop and worm farm. This is all leading towards a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths (STEAM/STEM) program for the school.
Library Resource Centre
The school has a well-equipped Library Resource Centre and gives high priority to the development of resource based learning by students through the Discovery and Learning Centre.
The school also has a multi-purpose function hall which is used for specialist lessons, sporting and other events and for Monday afternoon parade.
Car parking facilities are available outside the school grounds in Caplick Way, in Cook Street as well as along Napier Road car park which is the preferred pick up and drop off area for parents driving to school. The staff car park is to be used by Eumundi State School Staff and Education Queensland visitors only.
