In this section you can find out about some of the main extra-curricula activities on offer at Eumundi State School. Activities outside the normal school routine are seen as being of much value in assisting the development of children’s full potential.
Extra-curricula activities are arranged for children throughout the year. These include:
Musical, visual and performing arts eg. Glee Club; Year 3-6 concert (usually held every 3 years); Arts in Action (including Raw Art); Instrumental music/band (Years 4-6) and choir (Years 3-6).
Sports eg. Swimming carnival (for 9, 10, 11 and 12 year olds); Year 3-6 cross-country carnival; Year 3-6 athletics carnival; Prep-Year 2 Sports Day; participation in district/regional/state sports for selected students; participation in interschool sport (Year 6); Intraschool sport competition (Years 3-6); Surf Awareness (Years 5/6); Netball club (Years 3-6) and Running club.
The school has a very active focus on environment and sustainability issues through its School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP). Specialist science lessons take place in the purpose built science classroom (which also has an adjoining kitchen) located in the school gardens. All students attend an Enviro session once a term ie. every Thursday (whole day) a Year 4-6 class participates in their Enviro Day and every Friday (2 x half days) a PREP to Year 3 class visits the area for their Enviro Day activities. There is also an active gardening club.
Other eg. Year 4-6 camps; ICT club; STEM club; Public speaking/debating club; Student Council; Drawing club and participation in various academic competitions.
