The Movement and Physical Activity component of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum consists of three content descriptors. These are: Moving our body; Understanding movement and Learning through movement.

Physical Education is taught to all P-6 classes by a specialist teacher for 40min per week. These lessons include activities that cover content such as fitness, fundamental movement skills, active play, minor games, early years perceptual motor program, athletics, T-Ball, cricket, basketball, volleyball, Oz-Tag and netball.

Year 5 and 6 students participate in a Surf Awareness program in Term 4 at Noosa Main Beach. Year 6 students participate in Interschool Sport against other schools in the Noosa District. The following Inter House Sports Carnivals also take place throughout the year: 9 to 12 year old Inter House Swimming Carnival; Years 3 to 6 Inter House Cross Country Carnival; Years 3 to 6 Inter House Track and Field Carnival and the Prep to Year 2 Sports Day.

Teams are also selected to attend various soccer, netball and rugby league carnivals held on the Sunshine Coast. Another highlight of the year is the Pomona King of the Mountain event held in July in which Eumundi enters several competing relay teams.

2023 Noosa District School Sport Trials

The first term of the school year is always a busy one with many Noosa District Trials being held before the Easter Holidays. Any student born in 2011, 2012 or 2013 are eligible to try out at District level. However, they must firstly qualify at school level, as the District only allows a certain number of students from each school to attend.

If your child is interested in participating in one of these trials please refer to the attached document for more information (in particular the 'Expression of Interest Form' that needs to be returned to school).

Please note that the District Trials for Boys/Girls Touch and Boys/Girls Basketball are currently scheduled for WEEK 3 of TERM 1 this year (i.e. Touch Trials are 6 February and Basketball Trials are 7 February).

This will mean our 'school based trials for these sports will be held in Week 1/Week2 of Term 1 (students will be informed in Week 1 as to what day/s during either morning tea/lunch breaks these trials will occur).

However, if you have any questions/queries please contact Mr Brinkworth at your earliest convenience.
