Eumundi State School is currently working with The Department of Education to develop processes that will enable students’ to have the ability to continue their studies from home in response to the current situation regarding COVID-19.
In the event that your child does not attend school, we are recommending the following daily learning activities to support you and your child in their continuing studies.
General advice for learning continuity
Opportunities for students to read independently or with an adult
Completing assigned school tasks/homework
Engaging your child in writing activities e.g. journals, writing a response to a story
Exploring opportunities to engage in everyday mathematics e.g. money, number facts, cooking involving measurement and problem solving
A suite of curriculum resources providing opportunities and resources for students to continue their learning while not being able to access a school have been developed by The Department of Education.
These materials are designed as a support tool for students to engage in familiar activities essential to their learning and wellbeing. The included tasks and activities allow for students to work at their own pace from home.
In the event that your child does not attend school in the remaining weeks of Term 1, resources can be accessed using the following links. By using these links, you will be able to access English, spelling and Mathematics activities that revise concepts covered in Term 1 and align with Term 1 class work. They are split into Year Level bandings.
Students will need to use their school login details to access this resource. This is now available for all students. Students in PREP and Year 1 received their passwords on March 17 2020.
Students in Prep to Year 3 may require adult support to read and understand instructions and write responses. Detailed lesson instructions, helpful information, teaching tips and answers are provided.
The lessons for Years 4–10 are independent student materials that are written for a child to work through independently. They contain a complete set of student resources, teaching episodes and learning objects.
If learning resources are required for Term 2, the following links can be used. These links give access to
resources that provide students with learning experiences and activities that are intended for completion over a two-week period. These resources also link with our Term 2 learning that will occur in our classes.

If and when the need arises, we will provide further guidelines and resources to assist in the ease and implementation of these resources. This will be communicated as required.
Additional Links to support learning at home
Further advice for learning at home can be found on the Department of Education website via this link.
The table/s below also provides you with links to additional websites for student learning.
For a number of these links you will need to create a login for your child. We advise that you use your personal email and setup these accounts for your child as some of these websites are not currently on our Third Party Website Consent Forms. If you have previously been advised that your child has access to a particular website, please continue to use the login details that have been provided e.g. Studyladder, Reading Eggs and Education Perfect.
These are initial measures that we are putting in place. As we receive further advice, additional learning opportunities and resources will be developed and communicated to parents/caregivers to allow for learning continuity.
