Computer and internet

Digital technology is embedded in all key learning areas. All classrooms have Interactive Whiteboards with the school having 2 computer labs and a bank of laptops. P-1 use the online resource "Reading Eggs".
Reading Eggs Program

Reading Eggs is an online reading resource program that our Prep and Year One classes use at Eumundi State School.  Each student has their own logon and password so that they can access their individual program at the school computer lab, in school lessons, or at home on their home computer.  The program differentiates for each individual by beginning with a brief assessment to start the students on the level suitable for their reading ability.  The program is fun and engaging and rewards students with golden eggs whilst building on reading skills.  This is only part of a whole school approach to reading which also involves whole class reading lessons, group reading, guided reading, home-reading, comprehension and many more skill-building activities.  Reading is an integral part of every child's learning.

2016 is an exciting year as Queensland offered the new Digital Technologies Curriculum from Prep to Year 10.  Eumundi State School has introduced an ICT club that applies an integrated approach to learning by including the STEAM guidelines to enhance project outcomes.  We are also working with robotics (Sphero and We Do), coding and programming our own 3D platform games using Kodu.

The school also subscribes to Worldbook (encyclopaedia) Online.
Our World Book subscription allows us to give you and your family access to this valuable reference source at your home computers 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. We are providing this service to you at no charge!

We hope that your whole family will use the World Book sites often to help with homework, special projects, at-home learning and information seeking.

Please check with your class teacher or Library staff for Login details.
