On Friday 2 August, our Prep to Year 2 Eumundi students
came to school dressed in their team colours, ready for a day which included a
lot of cheering, running, jumping, throwing and team games.
Our mini teams of Banksia, Bunya, Cedar and Wattle boys
and girls worked together within their house groups to earn as many points as
possible while completing eight different rotational activities. At the end of
the day, our Prep to Year 2 students from Bunya house ran, threw and jumped
their way to victory, with Wattle house finishing a reasonably close second.
The overall points tally was as follows:
1ST Bunya = 76
2ND Wattle = 67
3RD Cedar = 59
4TH Banksia = 52
Congratulations to all students who participated. The
high level of enthusiasm and sportsmanship displayed was fantastic! Many thanks
as well to all parents, grandparents, families and friends who came to spectate
and cheer the Eumundi students. Thank you to all Eumundi staff and our ladies
in the tuckshop that helped put the days together, ensuring everything ran
successfully. Finally, an extra special thanks to Mr Robinson for helping to
organise and prepare for these events and to Mrs McDonagh for her tireless
efforts announcing throughout the day and to Mr Kross for helping out with the
sprint finals. Again thank you to all the P-2 staff members and Year 6 teachers
who were a part of the day.
It is also necessary to acknowledge our Year 6 students
who were exceptional in the way that they ran their respective activities throughout
the day. It was great to get such positive feedback from parents and staff
highlighting how impressed they were with the high level of responsibility and
organisation displayed by these boys and girls.
